Volunteer in School: About Us

Volunteer in the School

We welcome volunteers who want to use their skills and resources to help our students succeed. Volunteers who work directly with students on a regular basis or have the potential to be alone with a student are required to complete the DCPS volunteer clearance process.

Volunteers are processed and fingerprinted on a walk-in basis Monday through Thursday from 8 am to 5 pm and Fridays from 8 am - 3 pm. DCPS Central Office is located at 1200 First Street NE—10th floor, Washington, DC 20002, one block from the NOMA/Gallaudet (formerly New York Ave) Metro stop on the redline.


Volunteer Application

As of March 31, 2014, DCPS no longer accepts paper applications for volunteer fingerprinting. Complete the online application before coming to the office. Bring in the State Issued Photo Identification: e.g. Passport, Non-Drivers/Driver’s License, Military ID to the DCPS fingerprinting office.
